Assisted Instrument Purchase Scheme

The Assisted Purchase Scheme is a tax-efficient way of purchasing a new musical instrument through your state-funded school or academy. The student of whom the instrument is being purchased for must be receiving regular musical tuition or participating in school musical ensembles.

Instead of buying the instrument from us at the full retail price (including VAT), the instrument is purchased from the school at the ex-VAT price. The parent then acquires the instrument from the school under the agreed arrangement.

This structure allows families to benefit from the VAT saving where applicable. This scheme applies only to NEW musical instruments.

How It Works

1.    Select your new instrument: Choose a new musical instrument that qualifies under the scheme.
2.    School purchase: The school purchases the new instrument from us at the full retail price.
3.    Parent agreement: The parent enters into an agreement with the school to acquire the instrument and makes payments to them directly.
4.    Instrument supplied to student: The student receives the instrument from the school.

    • Used or second-hand instruments
    • Rental instruments
    • Repairs or accessories purchased separately
    • Schools that are not state-funded
